Did you think the lion was sleeping because he did not roar?
– Friedrich Schiller
No matter how things may appear, the Lion of Judah is not slumbering.
He is not unaware of our plight, nor is He negligent in guarding and protecting His rule.
He sees the utter depravity of mankind and the evil lurking behind closed doors. The scheming of power-hungry men does not escape His notice.
Just because He remains silent does not mean He is not on high alert.
He is simply biding His time, allowing His longsuffering to continue from the goodness of His character. His heart for the lost exhibits itself in His lovingkindness and patience in waiting for more souls to bend under Spirit’s breath.
It is God’s goodness that tempers the release of His judgment and wrath.
It is grace that stays the coming finale as He calls more souls to share in Heaven’s bliss.
No, the Lion is not slumbering.
He is patiently wooing and calling His own, drawing hearts to Himself – one by one – away from the wayward masses.
On the day He decides to stir, His roar will thunder across the heavens for all to hear.
As His majesty encompasses the earth, every man-made kingdom will crumble before His power and authority, and every knee will hit the ground as every eye beholds His glory.
When the King rises to take His rightful place, rest assured, no one will miss it.
So let us live listening for the roar.
Let us live looking for His glory.
Let us live loving the Lion of Judah and sharing our story of redemption as we encourage others to stay attuned and awake.
Because the Lion is sure to roar.
And when He does, there will be no taming Him.
