God didn’t create the world only to walk away from it. He stepped into it, strolling its beauty with the man and woman He placed there.
He didn’t desert Abraham to a grievous sacrifice at Mt. Moriah; He stepped into that act of obedience, sending a ram in a thicket to fulfill a promise given.
He didn’t desert the Israelites to their Egyptian masters; He stepped into their bondage, freeing them with signs and wonders.
He didn’t abandon Hannah to her barrenness; He stepped into it, breathing life and gifting her with a son who would become His voice to the nation.
He didn’t disregard the death sentence hanging over the Jewish population; He stepped into their enemy’s palace and answered the prayers of an orphan girl turned queen, saving an entire race of people.
He didn’t ignore the fire surrounding Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednego; He stepped into its blaze, smothering their death sentence with His very presence.
He didn’t abandon His people to silence forever; He stepped into that 400-year gap between the Old and New Testaments, splitting the heavens with the cry of peace on earth through the gift of a newborn baby.
He didn’t leave humanity wallowing in the filth of sin; He stepped into it by hanging on a cross and dying in our place.
He didn’t desert us at death’s door; He stepped into its dwelling and conquered its hold with resurrection power.
Jesus didn’t leave us to figure this life out on our own; He stepped into it, placing His Holy Spirit within all who dare believe.
God didn’t come to us to walk away from us. He came to draw us to Himself.
The same God who created all people has not changed throughout the ages.
Who He is today is exactly the same as who He has always been.
From creation to the cross to the Upper Room and to every soul who professes belief in His name, He still steps into where we are.
He steps in, revealing His presence time and again.
He steps in to prove Himself the truest of friends, the greatest love, and the conquering King who chooses us for His Bride.
He still steps in to deliver.
He still steps in, birthing beauty and life in barren souls.
He still hears prayers and transforms lives.
And still welcomes the prodigal home with open arms.
Jesus is still the way, the truth, and the life to everyone who believes. And He has promised to be with us, wherever we go, whatever we face.
He has come to stay, beloved.
Don’t allow your circumstances to convince you otherwise. He is right here with you.
Here in a world gone mad, Jesus still makes all things new.
I don’t know what you are facing today, but I know the One who wants to confront it with you.
Let Him.
Ask Him to meet you where you are – as you are – and fill you with His presence.
Invite Him to step into the realness of you with the realness of His presence, trusting He is more than able to bear all things for you.
Ask Him to come, and He will come.
Just like He always has.
And just like He always will.
That’s a promise you can trust.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
– Romans 8:38-39
