“There is one thing I do know: I was blind, but now I see!”
Such was the response of the man Jesus gifted with sight. Eyes blind since birth now darted about, taking in every blossoming tree and fluffy cloud. Voices in the crowd matched faces now crystal clear. Colors burst forth with vibrancy beyond his wildest imaginings. Indeed, the only thing more full than his sight was his heart.
Its racing made him want to dance and twirl through the streets he had previously stumbled. To scale the highest building and peer into the distant hills. He could hardly wait to run his fingers through the nearby river and splash in its depths unafraid. To test this new vision and take in every last bit of his surroundings. His body could barely contain the joy!
What a gift! What an incredible miracle he had received!
All these years of darkness, shattered by the touch of the Master and One voice rising above all others.
Jesus.
No matter the badgering of the religious elite, the accusatory voices challenging the authority of Jesus of Nazareth, the doubting and questions hurled his way. He could see! Glory, hallelujah, he could SEE!
And that was all he needed to know.
No theological debate.
No exposition of religious import.
No philosophical discussions.
All he needed to know was before his very eyes – literally.
” ‘Lord, I believe,’ he said. And he worshiped Jesus.”
And so it is with me.
I have met the Savior, and He has done a miracle in my life.
Whether or not the doubters believe, this one thing I know: I was blind, but now I see!
